Staking

To reward investors who believe in Galeon in the long term, the Galeon team set up Staking programs.

Staking lets holders earn a bonus in $GALEON by locking their $GALEON for a set period (from 6 months to 5 years, depending on the program).

MiCA transition: new staking is suspended

MiCA is the new European regulation for crypto-assets. Until Galeon completes its MiCA compliance, new stakes and $GALEON purchases are suspended on Atlantis.

Staked $GALEON remain their holders' property: they can be unlocked and withdrawn at any time, without penalty, even before the end of the lock-in period, then transferred to a personal wallet. There is no deadline. Details: the MiCA transition.

Example

For example, a user who stakes 1,000 $GALEON in a 3-year program with a +30% bonus (such as Galeon Professor, ex-King) earns 10% per year:

Year 1: +100 $GALEON
Year 2: +100 $GALEON
Year 3: +100 $GALEON

This results in a bonus of 300 $GALEON after 3 years, added to the initial 1,000 $GALEON locked, for a total of 1,300 $GALEON.

Stakings suspended and unlocked

New staking programs are suspended while we complete our compliance with MiCA, the new European regulatory framework for crypto-assets. They accept no new stakes: the table below only shows how far each one was filled, as displayed in the Atlantis Vault.

Legacy staking programs

The first programs, opened on the blockchain from 2022 onwards, have been migrated to Atlantis: they can be found in the Legacy Vault, where holders connect their wallet (MetaMask, WalletConnect) to see their positions. All seven have been filled and are marked "completed". These programs are smart contracts on the blockchain: each holder accesses them with their own wallet. All of them are full and no longer open to new stakes.

The Galeon Professor (3 years) and Pioneer programs allowed participants to earn $GEMS, which give access to goodies, community items, etc.
